Ans. Let Ram's present age = x years
ReplyDeleteLet mother's present age = y years
x/y = 3/11
or 11x-3y = 0 ........(1)
y-x =24
or -x+y = 24 .........(2)
by elimination from (1) and (2),
x = 9
y = 33
therefore, Ram's present age = 9 years
Mother's present age = 33 years
hence, ratio of their ages after 3 years,
x+3/y+3 = 9+3/33+3 = 12/36 = 1/3
= 1:3
Rams age :x yrs. Motherd age : y yrs
ReplyDeleteequations: 11x-3y=0
y-x=24
Value of x= 9 y=33
Ages fter 3 yrs. Rams age x+3 moms age y+3
Ratio 1:3
Rams age :x yrs. Motherd age : y yrs
ReplyDeleteequations: 11x-3y=0
y-x=24
Value of x= 9 y=33
Ages fter 3 yrs. Rams age x+3 moms age y+3
Ratio 1:3
Let Ram's present age be x years
ReplyDeleteLet mother's present age be y years
x/y = 3/11
or 11x-3y =0 (1)
y-x =24
or -x+y = 24 (2)
multiply (2) by 3
-3x+3y=72
by eliminating (1) and (2),
x = 9
y = 33
therefore, Ram's present age = 9 years
Mother's present age = 33 years
hence, ratio of their ages after 3 years,
x+3/y+3 = 9+3/33+3 = 12/36 = 1/3
= 1:3
ratio of ages of ram and his mother=3:11
ReplyDeletelet age of ram=3x
let age of ram's mother=11x
11x-3x=24
8x=24
x=24/8=3
age of ram=3x=3X3=9yrs
age of ram's mother=11x=11X3=33yrs
after 3yrs,
age of ram=9+3=12yrs
age of ram's mother=33+3=36yrs
ratio=12:36=1:3
